Looking for a new card printer but don’t know where to go? You don’t want a cheap printer that will produce low-quality cards, nor do you want a printer that will break or stop working correctly within a week or two. Unfortunately, finding card printers like this at a reasonable price can be difficult. With so many different products and brands selling card printers, how do you find the right one for you? This is where Windmill Computing can help you!
As an ID Card Bureau with 25 years of experience in the industry, we go the extra mile for our customers to ensure you chose the best solution for your needs.
Overview
A printer we highly recommend is the Javelin J1000i, a retransfer card printer with encoding options. The J1000i allows for both, high grade and high-speed card printing. Unlike some other printers, it prints onto a film that transfers onto the card, printing on more than PVC cards. You could also print onto IC cards that have uneven surfaces, or even cards that are thicker. This gives you the flexibility to print a wide variety of cards.
Features
The Javelin J1000i is able to print at 600dpi, ideal for cards with small text and images of varied sizes. On top of this, the printer can handle 145 cards an hour. With the capability to hold 250 cards in both its feeding cassette and its exit stacker, you shouldn’t need to restock too often either. No one enjoys having to restock the printer as it can turn into a hassle. The Javelin J1000i makes the process quick and easy to remove and replace the ribbons, so you can get straight back to printing. In fact, you can refill it while it is still printing.
Being compliant with both RoHS and Green Purchasing Law, you know you’re not going to be harming the environment when using this printer. Security is essential for any card printer, but don’t worry. The J1000i has an IPsec protocol to prevent unauthorised access. A simple adjustment dial on the card cassette lets you adjust the card thickness. Cleaning wise, there is a simple card track to allow for easy cleaning.
Finally, if you wish to encode your ID cards then there are three encoding options to choose from:
- Magnetic Encoder
- Contactless IC Encoder
- Contact IC Encoder
