The pcProx Sonar Presence Detector
This presence detector automatically locks your screen when you walk away from it, without the need for any intervention or setting up. Rf IDEAS provides the user with the first software-free solution that prohibits usage and unauthorised access to computers without your presence within the vicinity. The pcPROX-Sonar automates the locking of your PC as soon as you are no longer detected within the proximity of the PC. The pcProxID Sonar eliminates the need for an awkward timeout setting that can lock you out whilst you are working, it simply locks the PC as soon as you are no longer detected. This system is a presence detector, not a badge reader.
Installing The Presence Detector
The Sonar has an extremely simple set-up and installation. The detector should be attached to your PC via a USB port, this emulates a keyboard device. This operating mode allows you to customise and send individual keystrokes and delays that can be defined by the user. One of the largest benefits of the pcPROX-Sonar, however, is the absence of software. No software is required from the client or server; the detector contains a flash memory that holds definable keystrokes, settings, delays and triggering distance between 2 and 5 feet.
